Step 1: Treatment planning

It all begins with a free consultation with your dentist at Highland Dental Arts. It is essential that a patient seeking a dental implant has sufficient jaw bone that is strong enough to support the implant. Our doctors will examine your jaw bone and general oral and dental health, and will discuss your dental goals to determine if a dental implant is the best tooth-replacement option for you!

Step 2: Implant surgery

A dental implant is a secure, permanent replacement for a missing tooth that helps strengthen your smile and prevent these risks while improving your confidence by providing you with a full grin! During the implant placement, the implant is surgically inserted into the gums, where the root of the tooth used to be. Over the course of a few months, the implant will begin to fuse to the jaw bone. This fusion helps to create a stable and secure base for the implant restoration.

Step 3: Tooth restoration

Once your mouth has healed and we confirm that the implanted base is ready, we then place a custom-designed crown over the base that fits perfectly to restore the smile. What are the pros and cons of getting an implant?

Missing teeth make it difficult to properly eat your food, leading to digestive problems and nutritional deficiencies. After you lose a tooth, your jaw will also begin to shrink, which will cause your facial muscles to sag.

How many appointments will it take to get implants?

You will visit our office 3-4 times during your dental implant treatment experience. The full process includes your initial consultation, treatment planning, surgery, and follow-ups to check on your progress.

Do implants hurt?

Getting an implant involves a minor surgical procedure, during which your dentist will insert the implants into your jawbone. Be sure to follow the post-operative care instructions we provide you with to ensure a comfortable recovery.
